ZuriQ is an ETH Zurich spinout building trapped-ion quantum processors on a native two-dimensional architecture, using static magnetic fields instead of the oscillating electric fields conventional designs rely on. In July 2026 it raised a $25.5 million seed round led by Quantonation to scale a working nine-ion prototype fabricated with Infineon, calling the approach a faster path to industrial-scale quantum hardware.
