The Exploration Company is a Franco-German aerospace company building Nyx, a family of reusable spacecraft for low Earth orbit and beyond. In September 2026 it closed a $450 million Series C co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Atomico, and the EU-backed Scaleup Europe Fund, taking total funding to roughly $680 million. The money funds a Nyx mission to the International Space Station and Storm, a methane engine intended for a future European heavy launcher; the company reports more than $2 billion in contracts and commitments.
