Nuclear Turbines, a spinout from BAE Systems founded by former principal engineer Jeremy Owston, designs compact modular reactors around high-temperature turbine technology borrowed from jet engines instead of conventional steam turbines. It raised £15 million led by IQ Capital in July 2026 to validate the reactor design, targeting roughly a fifth of today's nuclear generation costs for industrial customers.
