Element 3-5 is a Baesweiler, Germany semiconductor company tracing back to AIXaTECH, a 2010 RWTH Aachen spin-off, making silicon carbide epitaxial wafers used in power electronics for electric vehicles and grid infrastructure. This week the European Commission approved €353 million in German state aid, its largest share of a €659 million Chips Act package, toward the company's new SiC manufacturing plant.
