X is the social platform formerly known as Twitter, owned by Elon Musk. In December 2025 it received the first fine under the Digital Services Act, EUR 120 million, over deceptive blue checkmarks, its ad repository, and researcher data access. X and Musk are challenging the decision at the General Court, and in September 2026 the US Justice Department applied to intervene on their side.
