Volta is a London company that finances, builds, and operates AI data centres, positioning itself as a vertically integrated alternative to the rent-a-GPU neoclouds. It left stealth in August 2026 with roughly $300 million raised across seed and Series A rounds led by Andreessen Horowitz and NVIDIA, at a $2.4 billion valuation. Its first project is a 133 MW facility in Norway developed with the crypto miner Bitdeer, tied to a six-year compute contract worth about $10 billion that Bloomberg reported is with Anthropic. The company says its pipeline across Europe and North America exceeds a gigawatt.
