Thales is a French aerospace, defence and digital security group, majority-listed with the French state as a large shareholder. Its Artemis AI platform for intelligence and battlefield data analysis has become one of the few European systems positioned as a direct substitute for Palantir. In August 2026, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Romania, the Netherlands and Canada were all reported to have expressed interest in it, on the argument that it is NATO-compatible without being a black box.
