Suno

Suno is an American generative music company whose models produce full songs from text prompts. It became the defendant in the first major European ruling on AI training data when the Munich Regional Court found in July 2026 that it had memorised and reproduced six works represented by GEMA. The court took jurisdiction over training conducted in the United States, rejected a fair use defence, and ordered Suno to disclose revenue linked to the infringement with a EUR250,000 penalty per further breach.
