Smart Photonics is an Eindhoven indium phosphide photonics foundry that makes active optical components such as lasers, modulators, and amplifiers. In September 2026 it launched a joint open-access foundry service with GlobalFoundries that integrates its InP components into silicon photonics chips, with general availability planned for the second half of 2027.
