SCI Semiconductor

SCI Semiconductor is a Sheffield chip company whose ICENI range is the first production silicon built on CHERI, the Cambridge-originated architecture that compartmentalises memory access in hardware rather than in software. Memory safety sits behind roughly 70% of cyberattacks, and SCI is a core supplier to the UK government's Accelerated CHERI Adoption Programme. In September 2026 it raised £5 million led by PXN Ventures and Mercia Ventures, on an order book above £2 million and £7.7 million of government contracts; the chips are designed in the UK and fabricated in Germany.
