Restate is a Berlin infrastructure software company that makes AI agents and backend services durable, so that work resumes where it stopped after a failure. Its founders, including CEO Stephan Ewen, Igal Shilman, and Till Rohrmann, created Apache Flink, the open-source stream processor widely used in banking. In September 2026 it raised a $20 million Series A led by Singular, with Redpoint Ventures and Capital One Ventures, and is opening a San Francisco office.
