- Carina architecture delivered to DLR QCI (Jul 2026)
QuiX Quantum builds photonic quantum computing hardware, spun out of the University of Twente's MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology in 2019 by researcher Jelmer Renema and co-founders. The Enschede company has moved from special-purpose photonic systems toward general-purpose machines that run any gate-based quantum algorithm at room temperature. In July 2026 it delivered Carina, its first universal photonic architecture, to the German Aerospace Center's Quantum Computing Initiative, a step toward its next-generation Dedalo system.
