PLD Space is a Spanish launch company that in June 2026 committed €35 million to its launch complex at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou — the first private operator to deploy capital at this scale at the ELM-Diamant site. It is targeting the inaugural test flight of its reusable MIURA 5 orbital vehicle before the end of 2026, betting a private operator can help fill European commercial launch capacity constrained since Ariane 5 retired.
