Pixel Photonics

Pixel Photonics is a Münster-based quantum-photonics spin-out (2021, University of Münster) that raised €13.5 million in 2026 — a €5 million seed plus €8.5 million from the EIC Accelerator. It makes waveguide-integrated superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors, miniaturising bulky cryogenic lab setups onto chip-scale devices. Selected as one of 61 EIC winners from roughly 1,000 applicants, it sits at the intersection of quantum sensing, secure communications and European semiconductor ambitions.
