Open Cosmos designs, builds and operates satellite missions end to end from Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire, with regional offices in Barcelona, Porto and Athens. Founded in 2015 by Rafel Jorda Siquier, it runs four European factories with a combined capacity of one satellite a day and employs close to 400 people. In September 2026 it raised EUR 300 million led by Lightrock and ETF Partners to expand manufacturing and build out OpenConstellation, a shared Earth-observation network aiming to cut delivery of usable intelligence from 48 hours to 30 minutes.
