Nexperia makes discrete semiconductors, logic, and MOSFETs from Nijmegen, spun out of NXP in 2017 and owned by China's Wingtech. The Dutch government intervened in the company in late 2025 over control of strategic semiconductor assets, a precedent that has since shaped how other Chinese-owned Dutch chip firms manage themselves. Its subsidiary Itec is working with the research institute TNO and several backend firms on an automated panel-level assembly and test operation, while trade press argues it should also take a shareholding in France's Tessalia packaging venture.
