Monumental builds autonomous bricklaying robots and runs them as a construction service, billing for completed walls rather than selling the hardware itself. Founded in Amsterdam in 2021 by Salar al Khafaji and Sebastiaan Visser, the company operates a fleet of more than 150 robots across the Netherlands and the UK and has helped build over 100 structures. It closed a $32 million Series B in July 2026, led by Khosla Ventures, to expand its engineering team and the range of tasks its robots can perform.
