- 2GW renewable capacity in Montenegro
Masdar is Abu Dhabi's state-owned clean energy company, built to develop renewable and green hydrogen projects across the world on behalf of the UAE. In July 2026 it moved its Montenegro joint venture with state utility EPCG from agreement to execution, signing project development deals for two solar plants and a framework to explore over 400MW of pumped hydro storage, the first concrete steps toward a targeted 2GW of capacity in the country.
