Leonardo is Italy's state-backed aerospace and defence group, based in Rome. With Thales it owns Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio. In October 2026 it said it would file within weeks to merge its space business with those of Airbus and Thales under the codename Bromo, a deal OHB has threatened to challenge in court.
