Greenvolt is a Portuguese renewables developer founded in 2021 as a spin-out from pulp group Altri and taken private by KKR in 2024. It builds utility-scale solar, wind, biomass and storage across Europe, with its largest recent activity in Poland.
In July 2026 its Greenvolt Power arm inaugurated a 200MW, 800MWh battery plant at Turosn Koscielna near Bialystok, one of Poland's largest, built from BYD lithium iron phosphate modules and holding a 17-year capacity market contract from 2028. Two more Polish sites are in the pipeline, including a 600MW, 2.4GWh project at Siedlce.
