- Remit fine
- EUR 16,000 (Oct 2026, under appeal)
Futugrid Technologies is a Tallinn company that connects household devices to software that can switch them off briefly to help balance the Estonian grid. It sells that flexibility into Baltic balancing markets.
In October 2026 Estonia's competition authority fined it EUR 16,000 for market manipulation, its first such decision under the EU's REMIT rules. Futugrid had placed a downward balancing bid at minus EUR 9,999 per MWh to avoid activation; it was activated anyway and set the price. The decision can be appealed.
