- EUR 13M Horizon Europe project, as lead (Oct 2026)
Exogenus Therapeutics develops therapies from extracellular vesicles, working from Biocant Park in Cantanhede, Portugal. Its lead candidate, EXO-101, is a vesicle-rich secretome from umbilical cord blood cells, and Lonza is developing its manufacturing process. In October 2026 it was named lead of ExoCordOA, a five-year, EUR 13 million Horizon Europe project to take EXO-101 into osteoarthritis trials, with the first patient study expected in early 2028.
