Exein builds security into device firmware rather than monitoring devices from outside, covering aerospace, industrial automation, automotive, energy, healthcare and semiconductors. Founded in Rome in 2018 and led by Gianni Cuozzo, it says its code now runs on two billion chips, with Nvidia, AWS and MediaTek among its customers. In September 2026 it raised $270 million led by Headline at a $1.7 billion valuation, with Sofina, Goldman Sachs, the EIB Group and Deutsche Telekom's T.Capital participating. A foundation model for physical AI security is planned for 2027.
