Eni Storage Systems is a joint venture between Eni Industrial Evolution and Seri Industrial building lithium-iron-phosphate battery and BESS assembly plants in Italy. It broke ground on its Brindisi gigafactory on July 6, 2026, on a former polymer storage site, with a sister plant in Teverola; combined, the two sites target 16 GWh of annual production by 2030, over a tenth of Europe's stationary storage market. It marks an oil and gas major moving direct capital into battery manufacturing rather than just hydrogen or renewables financing.
