ElevenLabs builds speech synthesis and audio generation models. Piotr Dabkowski, an ex-Google machine learning engineer, and Mati Staniszewski, formerly of Palantir, founded it in 2022; the company runs out of London and New York and was valued at $11bn in February 2026.
In September 2026 it released Music v2.5, trained under licensing deals with Merlin, which represents 30,000 independent labels, and with Kobalt on the publishing side. Universal Music was not part of that model, despite a separate agreement with ElevenLabs to build a remix platform.
Later that month the EUR 5 billion Scaleup Europe Fund, seeded with EUR 1 billion from the European Commission and managed by EQT, entered talks to join a raise of more than $500 million; a July secondary had reportedly priced the company at $22bn. Staniszewski has floated a Warsaw dual listing within two to three years.
