Black Forest Labs is a Freiburg company that builds the FLUX family of image generation models, founded by researchers behind Stable Diffusion. On 15 October 2026 it released FLUX 3 Image Klein, a 5.6-billion-parameter open-weights model for generating and editing images that runs on consumer graphics cards with 8 GB of memory. The company says it leads its own blind evaluations against larger open and closed models. Its licence is free for commercial use only below $5 million in annual revenue.
