Aptadir Therapeutics is a Milan biotech developing DiRs, RNA molecules that block DNA methylation at a single gene so that a silenced gene can be switched back on. Its first programme, CAP1-FMR1, targets Fragile X syndrome and is preclinical. In September 2026 it closed a €40 million ($45 million) seed round led by 4BIO Capital, with EXTEND, CDP Venture Capital, and Angelini Ventures, one of the largest seed rounds raised by an Italian health startup.
