Amazon appears in Long Build coverage on three fronts. In June 2026 the European Commission gave its preliminary view that AWS should be designated a gatekeeper under the Digital Markets Act — the first time cloud infrastructure has been targeted under the regulation. The same month Amazon signed Germany's largest single power purchase agreement, a 600 MW deal for Baltic offshore wind. And a Luxembourg court annulled its €746M GDPR fine on procedural grounds while confirming the underlying violations.
