Allianz is a German multinational insurer. Its assistance and travel unit, Allianz Partners, said in July 2026 it would eliminate 1,500 to 1,800 of its roughly 22,000 European jobs as AI takes over more claims and customer-service work, built on a Claude-based platform from an Anthropic partnership announced in January. The company framed the cuts around severance and early-retirement packages, making it one of Europe's clearer public test cases of AI-driven workforce reduction.
