Alice & Bob is a Paris quantum computing company building superconducting cat qubits, which resist one type of error by design and so need fewer physical qubits for error correction. In October 2026 it and ENS Lyon reported that a microvolt-scale DC bias can stabilise cat qubits in place of a microwave pump, cutting heat and wiring inside the cryostat.
